Fuzzy Golden Nautilus (Allonautilus scrobiculatis)

painting of a fuzzy golden nautilus with its Latin name

The Fuzzy or Crusty Golden Nautilus looks like most other nautiluses I’ve seen, except for the layer of thick yellow slime coating about half of its shell, so from what I’ve learned it’s neither fuzzy nor crusty. Regardless of its true texture, it’s one of my favorite paintings I did for Invertober, so I’ll probably make prints from it! Learn a little more about this weird mysterious creature here.
